Unique Images

Tinting, layering, drip and splash, and brush work are all a part of my work.  Most drip art paintings do not include tinting or layering. This is the part of my work that gives different tones and values.  The dimensional look combined with drip and splash creates a most unique and exciting image. Look closely at the work and you will see many tones, tints, layering and color values. This is created with the tinting and layering process.

I love the work of many other abstract expressionists, drip art painters and action painters, Jackson Pollock, Robert Motherwell, Willem de Kooning and Mark Rothko, just to name a few of the great ones.

I have been painting all my life- for over 55 years. My techniques and styles have changed over the years but I keep going back to the things I love. The work you will see on this site is my most recent work.  It involves layers of painting. One of the most interesting things to me is to see the painting or the idea and then review it in my mind from the first layer out to the last.  Its like seeing a film from the end to the beginning in your mind. Sometimes I put 5, 6 or 7 layers of tints on the painting,  in order to get the final effect. One needs to know each step and each layer to get to the finished image. I don’t think any of my paintings take the same path. I remain very fluid and loose throughout the process allowing things to happen.  I’m not afraid to change as long as it will end result will be better.

Art is what I love to do. Painting is very special. I get a true meditative effect when painting. The NOW becomes real and everything else is very far away. My abstract work is a true reflection of my spirit nothing can overtake me like painting does. It’s hard to talk about.  I don’t want to sound dramatic, but painting makes me feel good so I keep going back to it.  Funny, more and more people must be getting good feelings from my work because they keep coming back.

Growth is very important because it gives me more reason to paint, to work to create something. My work is my expression of belief in my life, my family, my friends, God, tradition, but most of all in just believing in the work itself. If a person is growing, he is changing his ideas and beliefs.   He is not stagnant in his life or work. Be grateful, mindful and still.
